Health Science Core/ Healthcare and Clinical Services

Instructor: Angela Patton

My name is Angela Patton and I am a 2010 Graduate of MS. Delta Community. I earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Registered Nursing and became licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in the same year. My teacher career started in 2013, after realizing that I could make a difference. I have practiced as an Emergency room Registered Nurse for the past 5 and half years. Alternating between teaching and nursing gives me the balance I need in life.

I believe teaching is an art. There is a need for compassionate, strong and dedicated individuals who are excited about working with young adults. In our competitive workforce, it is important for students not only to receive a solid academic education, but to work with a Registered Nurse who is aware of and sensitive to their individual learning needs as well.

Health Sciences is a pathway of courses for students in the Health Sciences career cluster. The Health Sciences pathway includes classroom and hands-on experiences that will provide students with an overview of the health-care as well as begin to prepare students for careers in occupations predicted to have a high number of available jobs in the next 10 years including registered nurses, nurse aides, practical nurses, physicians, dentist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and home health aides.
